Authors Note

The following is a fantasy comic based on a dream I had on the 21st of July 2005. To begin with, we have the fairly typical scenario of a young woman finding herself unexpectedly thrust into a strange and unusual setting, not sure quite how she got there or what do to next.

Where we go from there..only time can tell. But I can reassure the reader that the main character is not an angsty teenager, nor is she likely to defeat any Evil Villains with new-found Magical Gifts(*).

Also, the astute reader may notice that all of the main characters appear to be cats. (Or at least, cat-like) There are three main reasons for this:

  1. They were cats in the dream (albeit more Anne MacAffery and less Beatrix Potter);
  2. Non-humans make for a more interesting setting;
  3. Cats are fun to draw.

Finally, a warning (or perhaps a denial of liability): This is, as far as I can remember, the very first fantasy story I have ever written beyond a Victor Kelleher satire I wrote in year 10 (where a plucky teenager goes on quest against the odds and DIES A HORRIBLE DEATH) So yes, it is a bit derivative. And inconsistent. And confusing. I don't care. It's fun to do :) (Until I get bored)

(*)Though I refuse to rule this out entirely.
